Project to help over 50’s stay active recruiting participants in Scotland

The Still Going Project aims to find out what helps people aged 50 years and over across Scotland stay active, healthy and independent for longer in later life, and is appealing to physiotherapists in Scotland to take part in research.

The Still Going Project is a research project funded by the Scottish Government and collaboration between University of Strathclyde and ADL Smartcare Ltd. The project is appealing for help from physiotherapists to take part in the research.

The project uses the  LifeCurve and can be used to position how you are ageing. It is based on research which says there is a set order in which we lose the ability to do everyday activities as we age. Your position and trajectory on the LifeCurve can change, helping to regain functional ability and greater independence.

Using the free LifeCurve app first users can find out where they are on the LifeCurve, and then the app provides simple tasks and advice relative to your position that you can complete at home. The app uses evidence-based practice. You can find more information at: https://www.adlsmartcare.com/lifecurveapp

To use the LifeCurve App with clients and take part in the research all you need to do is download the LifeCurve app for free from any Apple or Android device, and connect to the STILL Going Project as a partner.

If you would like to advertise the research in your clinic, please contact the project for printed flyers. The research also offers a support service to those in Scotland who are looking to use the LifeCurve app with clients, or for users directly.
