    At the heart of today’s call for proportionate investment between community and acute services was a plea for fairness. As it’s only fair that people are supported to make full recoveries, and are able to access that support whoever and wherever they are in the country.   • This winter will again show why it is so important to invest in rehab 

    Winter is here. Or should I say, it never really left. Speak to many of the CSP’s members and they’ll attest that the NHS lives in an almost constant state of ‘winter pressures’. As I write, the system is braced for the already significant pressure to ratchet up a few more notches before Spring arrives. There’s the influx of winter flu, a rise in covid cases and not enough staff; it’s a heady mix and one that was only ever going to result in yet another winter crisis.   • We need a rehab revolution, before it’s too late

    The Covid-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact for many people living with a long-term condition. The physical deterioration caused by greater levels of inactivity has been compounded by the social isolation of lockdown. At the same time, rehabilitation services vital in managing and helping to support have been suspended and continue to face challenges in clearing the enormous backlog. There is greater need now than ever before – even before you consider the one million people living with Long Covid, most of whom require some form of rehabilitation.
